Off-Campus Internship Program

Off-Campus Internship Program

1. Internship Cooperation Agreement
The University has established a cooperation agreement with participating internship organizations. The agreement has been reviewed and revised by the relevant legal affairs units to safeguard the rights and interests of students undertaking internships. The agreement covers matters including the internship environment and content, student guidance and support mechanisms, performance evaluation, dispute resolution, and other relevant arrangements.

2. Principles for Off-Campus Internships

(1) Pre-Internship Preparation and Guidance
Before beginning their internships, students are required to participate in pre-internship instruction. The purpose of this instruction is to help students understand the current development and conditions of the relevant industry, become familiar with practical operations and workplace culture, and gain a clear understanding of workplace ethics, occupational safety, and key aspects of the internship.

During the internship period, students are provided with assistance and guidance in selecting suitable internship organizations and locations. For summer internships, faculty members are also scheduled to visit students at their internship sites to understand the internship arrangements, content, and overall situation, and to provide necessary assistance.

(2) Pre-Internship Training
Students are required to complete pre-internship training, which includes an introduction to practical workplace procedures, students’ rights and responsibilities during the internship, industry culture, and communication skills. The training aims to:

a. Understand the current development and conditions of the internship industry.
b. Gain an understanding of workplace ethics and safety at the internship site.
c. Become familiar with various presentation techniques.
d. Develop the ability to prepare written reports.
e. Develop skills in delivering oral presentations.
f. Share internship experiences with fellow students to enhance their understanding of the industry as a whole.

(3) Internship Arrangements

a. Following a departmental meeting, internship placements are arranged with companies or organizations that have signed a cooperation agreement with the Department.

b. To ensure students’ safety during the internship, students are required to complete the Off-Campus Internship Insurance Notification Form.

c. Before the internship begins, the Department holds a pre-departure orientation session for students to explain important matters and precautions related to the internship.

d. Internship advisors are required to visit each internship organization twice per semester. Advisors must complete a visit report and provide timely updates on students’ internship progress and circumstances to facilitate follow-up guidance and support.

e. In the event of an internship-related dispute or disagreement, if the matter cannot be resolved through coordination between the internship advisor and the internship organization, it may be referred to the Department for further coordination and resolution in accordance with applicable labor dispute resolution regulations.
